From internationally acclaimed soloists ranging for classical virtuosos to genre defying performers and innovative ensembles, the festival's guest artists cover a wide spectrum of musical styles. Over a dozen concerts and recitals will be performed, presenting a blend of technical mastery and artistic vision which will be an unforgettable experience whether you’re passionate about orchestral masterpieces, chamber music, or cutting-edge compositions.
The 2025 Festival's theme is inspired by the seminal 1957 novel by Islwyn Ffowc Ellis 'Wythnos yng Nghymru Fydd, imagining an ideal future Wales.
Continuing the literary theme, the Welsh National Opera will perform Serch yw'r Doctor,a comic operatic masterpiece by Saunders Lewis, first performed at the National Eisteddfod in 1960. Jane Austen will also be commemorated in words and music with soprano Claire Booth and actor Alex Kingston.
Operatic legend Sir Bryn Terfel and Archdruid of Wales, Mererid Hopwood, will join singers from the Royal Welsh College of Music & Drama in a celebration concert to mark the 150th anniversary of the Department of Welsh and Celtic Studies at Aberystwyth University. The concert will feature music by Wales's foremost composer of art song, Meirion Williams, and words by some of Wales’s best-known poets.
Other concerts at this year’s festival will include Sinfonia Cymru, The Art Deco Trio, The Welsh Chamber Orchestra and violinist Sara Trickey. . Composer and violinist Simmy Singh will participate in an innovative new music-theatre work for children in association with Cwmni Theatr Arad Goch.
